I used priceline for the first time and was pleased with the
results.priceline.I have found since
though that I can sometimes find a better price using expedia.com, or travelocity.com.
Since this page was written, other travel sites have popped up, a simple search should find many to choose.
I planned this trip early enough in advance to make sure I
had the best chance at a good price and think I probably
saved at least two hundred dollars roundtrip on the airfare.
I did not try the savings on the hotel since mine was booked
through a convention and that price was very good.
We saw the Follies the first night. The price was more than I expected, and
at first glance, the stage was a disappointment. When the
show began, however, all the glitz and spectacular stage props
were still there. I forgot the size of the stage. That is
show biz for you!! Unfortunately copyright laws prevented
me from taking any pictures. It was well worth the 54 dollar
price. This was also the G rated show. Please be forewarned,
G-rated meant it was not topless but they wore a skin tight
flesh colored bodysuit that did not leave a lot to the imagination. We arrived on Sunday afternoon, so were
free to do our own thing.
I walked down the famed sunset strip and
those are most of the pictures I took. The doorman at our
hotel said it was about 3 miles one way. It did not
seem at all that far. The excitement of the lights and
the dry desert air combined to make that walk very enjoyable.
Las Vegas has grown up some since I last was there and the
6-8 lanes of traffic did add an additional smell of gas to
the air that was a bit much at times.
No one in my party was brave enough to drive and time was
a problem too, since I was there to take classes for my
nursing license. The following pictures will be of the strip.
Next time I head that way I will get some desert pictures.
The sunset over the desert is fabulous. Other Las Vegas links: Las Vegas Online Entertainment Guide - Over 5000 Pages Of Las Vegas, NV Information for both visitors and locals.
