I took a trip with some friends to Silverfalls State Park. There we saw many different kinds of waterfalls. I particularly enjoy the smell of tall pines and the open air. There are many hiking trails to take you past all ten waterfalls, and to see all of them would be about a 7 miles hike. There are shorter loops for the novice, or those just not up to 7 miles. I saw five of the ten falls, and enjoyed the exercise and the beauty all around me. I will have some views of the falls in thumbnail thatyou can click on to see a larger picture. If you happen to be in this neck of the woods and like the outdoors at all, this is a must see. It is a reasonably short drive on Oregon 22, approximately 30 to 40 miles east of Salem. I had the best hamburger I have had in years at the lodge snackbar. |
